Sojourn Magazine, Spring 1999, Volume 3, Issue 2

From the Editors
This issue marks a turning point. After 2 1/2 years of complimentary distribution, Sojourn is going to direct sales, adding to its primary staff, and moving its office to Ukiah. Look for our beautiful magazine display boxes from the Bay Area to the Oregon border, and recommend us to your favorite shops.
Our theme this issue is Devotion in Action, with cover artist--gouache painter, silk screen artist and calligrapher--Beva Farmer of Sea Ranch. Our interviews reflect a variety of ways women apply their devotion, presence and compassion through community service--in prisons, hospice work, "true work" and other circles, basketmaking, the message of AA, discipleship, and voluntary simplicity. This collection would not be complete without a series of articles and interviews revealing the personal stories behind the activism of northern California women who are working to save our forests and wildlife.
The summer issue of Sojourn will explore bonding--parent to child, soul to source, friend to friend, community to planet--and fall will celebrate the millennium shift. We are happy to receive your submissions and letters throughout the year. If you would like to help us with one of our many ongoing projects, please call. We will soon be making additions to our website: audio, a paradigm shift section that includes men, and national and international submissions areas for women outside northern California.
